About the BRIDGE Network
The BRIDGE Network is an informal platform of scientific institutions on three continents that share two common missions: Conducting world-class research, and training PhD students. The name of the network stands for:
- Basic
- Research
- Institutions
- Delivering
- Graduate
- Education
Members of the BRIDGE Network are among the world’s most successful scientific institutions in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields. They are distinct from both universities with undergraduate students and from pure research institutes. They are attractive to top researchers because they combine the best of two worlds: freedom and resources to focus on curiosity-driven research, and a constant influx of brilliant young scientists.
The BRIDGE Network strengthens mutual exchange and cooperation between its members and advocates for the conditions required for excellent science to blossom for the benefit of society.
Currently, the members of the BRIDGE Network are:
- The Francis Crick Institute, London, UK
- Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA), Klosterneuburg, Austria
- Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST), Okinawa, Japan
- The Rockefeller University, New York, USA
- Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel *
* Due to ongoing commitments as of May 2023, the Communications Department of the Weizmann Institute of Science was unable to participate in this shared exhibition.
